ElectronicMusicGuide.com is a guide to some of the best electronic music on the planet. Sounds interesting?
EMG has a vision to build a site that is akin to an encyclopedia of the best electronic music out there. With the electronic music world being so vast it becomes increasingly difficult to find the good stuff. It's easy to post a review on a number of different music sites but this creates one big question mark?.....can we trust what the reviewer is telling us about the music? Too many times we’ve bought music on a recommendation only to end up feeling we’ve been misled. We need some way of controlling what's great electronic music from what's not so great.
That’s why we’ve set up EMG. An electronic music guide that is altogether different. The music covered on EMG is up there because it is genuinely good music. Largely album based, we have documented the best electronic music from genres we love such as Drum & Bass, Techno, Progressive, Ambient, Breakbeat and Film Soundtracks to name but a few.
We admit we’ve only found a fraction of all the amazing electronic artists and releases. We’re all discovering new sounds but if we share our discoveries then that’s got to be the start of something that’s worth the effort. That’s where you the community can help. Our aim is to discover and cover – with your help – the best electronic music from all around the globe. Sound like a good idea?
Sign up - it’s free. It doesn't matter if you're a music producer or lover, you can post your own articles, news, reviews, artists, links and photos. We'll give free handouts of cash, music, gig tickets and promo releases to people that contribute the most. Please note - it is worth listening to the the genres of music that make us tick. If you think you are on the same wavelength as us musically, we'd love to hear from you. As long as it’s genuine and good music it’ll become part of the site.
There are artists that ooze talent but just don’t get the recognition. It’s about time we gave these producers the exposure they deserve, not just the big guns. So that’s another goal of EMG, to find the lesser known but equally talented producers and help get their music heard. Together this site could become a resource of electronic music like no other. We reckon we’ve made a good start, let’s see where it takes us......
Please support our cause by making a paypal or credit card donation. Our mission is to continue to seek out beautiful electronic music. Any donation at all helps and will go towards making this site even better
Our ethos
It’s all about discovering new music. We'd prefer spending our time seeking out new music and artists (to add to the site) rather than trying to describe the music or classify it into a certain genre. The music covered on this site has moved us in some way and that’s what we feel is important. Of course we need genres to try and classify the music. It's inevitable that music genres cross over eg. Banco De Gaia contains elements of ambient and trance. In each case, we have tried to use our best judgement as to what genre best describes the artist. We understand that music is all a matter of opinion. It can be a very personal thing – different people listening to the same track will conjure different feelings, thoughts and emotions. We’ll just try and steer you in the right direction.
