There’s some really talented female electronic artists out there. Bjork is one such artist that has enjoyed mainstream success with her diverse and often experimental approach. There must be plenty of other female artists that are trying to push the boundaries of electronic sound. What we are trying to do is give exposure to maybe some of the lesser known artists in the music world. Two artists that immediately spring to mind are Mrs Jynx and Cybo.
Mrs Jynx (from Manchester) has recently released her second studio album titled ‘Shark Carousel’ on planet mu records. The words melodic, happy, idm and ambient give you a good idea of what’s on offer here. It carries on where her debut album ‘The Standoffish Cat’ left off. This is music with optimism and heart. It’s not too often we come across music that can make us feel happy and sad at the same time but this most definitely manages it. If you’re looking for music for the head as well as the heart both her albums come highly recommended with ‘Shark Carousel’ just pipping ‘The standoffish cat’ at the post.

Another album, albeit from last year that raised our eyebrows was ‘Last glow before darkness’ from New York producer Cybo. Tracks such as ‘Still life’ bubble with emotive energy and warmth. It’s an album that warrants a few listens before the depth of her compositions reward the listener. She also has a new EP out called 'Echoespond'. A producer to keep an eye on.

This is where you might want to come in, suggest electronic female artists that deserve greater recognition or just your favourite female producers. Let’s try and pull together a list of great albums and artists. The best ones will of course be added to the site.
