It is a small world alright
Back in the summer of 1994 ( I think), I did some work experience down near Cambridge. I got friendly with some guys, went out for beers and so on. One of these guys, I remember him sitting in the brew room munching on a roll and reading the now sadly defunkt Muzik mag.


He introduced me to the likes of Pete Namlook, Speedy J and Global Communication to name but a few. He was only 16 at the time and already well into electronic music. He also tipped Goldie as a future star before he released his Timeless long player.


We lost touch, as you do, and then I saw the name on some music website and thought is this the same bloke I knew back then? When I saw the photo of him I thought it had to be. So who is it?


Oriol is his name and he's released what many have said is one of the albums of the year in the form of Night and Day. The album incorporates different styles such as disco, electro, idm and downtempo. It's slow mo electronic music with plenty of soul. We especially like the track Memories.
